The Presidents Institute is CIC's premier event, bringing presidents of independent colleges and universities together for networking, problem-solving, and sharing of ideas.

The Conversation between Foundation Officers and College and University Presidents is an annual meeting of dialogue for corporate and private foundation officers and presidents of liberal arts colleges and universities.

These seminars are designed to assist presidents and prospective presidents to clarify their own sense of personal vocation and weigh it in the context of the missions of the institutions they each lead or might lead in the future.

The colloquium is designed to engage participants in a selection of cases drawn from classical and contemporary thought and bring them into relevance to the situations faced by today's presidents.

In collaboration with the Aspen Institute, CIC offers seminars on leadership for presidents and chief academic officers.

NetVUE fosters the exploration of vocation in college and university campus communities.

CIC provides listservs for various campus constituencies. All of the listservs are reserved exclusively for staff from CIC member institutions.

The Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program brings prominent artists, diplomats, journalists, business leaders, and other nonacademic professionals to campuses.

The CIC Tuition Exchange Program (CIC-TEP) is a network of CIC colleges and universities willing to accept, tuition-free, students from families of full-time employees of other CIC-TEP institutions.

CIC’s report, “A Study of Career Patterns of the Presidents of Independent Colleges and Universities,” examines the various career routes and other characteristics of first-time presidents.

The Best Practices Libraries provide a sample collection of resources organized by CIC and created by its members around specific topics.

Making the Case charts, data, and other resources are compiled periodically from reliable sources to help demonstrate the effectiveness of CIC institutions.

The Key Indicators Tool (KIT) improves the capacity of member institutions to gain access to and utilize data to enhance institutional decision-making and improve institutional effectiveness.

The Financial Indicators Tool (FIT) provides an easily understood assessment of an institution’s financial performance that can be tracked over time and benchmarked against similar institutions.
