Distance from Embassy Hotel: 11 miles (approx. 15 minutes); Distance from
Rhodes campus: 8.35 miles (approx. 17 minutes)
Airport Shuttle: The Embassy Suites Hotel provides complimentary
hotel shuttle transportation to/from the Memphis Airport. The hotel recommends
advance reservations (call hotel front desk: 901-684-1777). Airport pick-ups
can also be requested by using the hotel service phone at the airport
in baggage claims A, B, and C. However, calling in advance helps the hotel
know how many shuttles to send at a given time. Wait for the shuttle outside
baggage claim and across the first drive/roadway. Overhead signs will
indicate location for Hotel/Motel shuttle stop. For return travel from
hotel, please sign-up for the shuttle at hotel desk (first-come; first
serve).

Directions from Memphis Airport to Embassy Suites Hotel:
- Take I-240E, go 9 miles,
- Exit 15a-Poplar Ave E/Germantown at 3rd light turn left on Shady Grove
Directions from Embassy Suites Hotel to Rhodes College:
- Start out going south on S Shady Grove Rd. toward Regalia Drive
- Turn right onto Poplar Avenue
- Merge right onto I-240 E toward Nashville; I-240 E becomes I-40 W.
- Merge onto Sam Cooper Blvd via Exit 12B on the left.
- Follow Sam Cooper to end (see Overton Park sign); Watch for speed traps
- Turn right onto East Parkway
- Turn left onto North Parkway at the 4-way stoplight (at the Exxon gas
station)
- Turn right onto University Street
- Turn right onto the Rhodes campus at Phillip Lane (the first entrance
to the college)
- Parking will be available on Phillips Lane and by Harris Lodge
- Buckman Hall is to the right at the far end of Phillips Lane

Directions from Memphis Airport to Rhodes College:
- Follow the airport access road and turn left at the fork (toward “240”)
- This road will become Airways Boulevard; Airways changes names and becomes
East Parkway
- After crossing Poplar Avenue get into left lane
- Turn left onto North Parkway at the 4-way stoplight (at the Exxon gas
station)
- Turn right onto University Street
- Turn right onto the Rhodes campus at Phillip Lane (the first entrance
to the college)
- Parking will be available on Phillips Lane and by Harris Lodge
- Buckman Hall is to the right at the far end of Phillips Lane
Campus parking:
Parking will be available on Phillips Lane and by Harris Lodge. No permits
required.
Workshop Shuttle Bus: On Friday, February 17, a pre-workshop
bus will provide transportation from the Embassy Suites Hotel to Rhodes
College. The bus will depart from the hotel at 2:15 pm. Bus transportation
will be provided between the hotel and campus on a limited schedule throughout
the workshop.
