College Media Conference

The College Media Conference, organized by the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) and the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), helps communications and public relations professionals on campus prepare news materials that produce results and also to make contact with some of the nation’s top reporters, editors, freelance writers, producers, bookers, educational correspondents, and campus news professionals.

Who Should Attend?
Communications officers, public and media relations directors, news bureau managers, writers, university relations vice presidents, assistant deans for external relations, and other interested administrators from all colleges and universities are invited to attend. The conference is intended to help campus communications professionals develop techniques that work, prepare news materials that produce results, and make contacts with some of the nation’s top reporters, editors, freelance writers, producers, bookers, educational correspondents, and campus news professionals.

The Capital Hilton, at 1001 16th St NW, is located in the heart of Washington, DC, just two blocks from the White House, is close to three MetroRail stations, and is within walking distance of the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and Georgetown. Hotel reservations at the CIC conference hotel rate of $189 single/double room can be made beginning November 20, 2014, by calling the Capital Hilton at (202) 393-1000. When calling to make your reservations, please indicate that you are with the College Media Conference or Council of Independent Colleges to receive the group rate. The reservation deadline for the special rate is May 29, 2015.
