At a CIC-hosted event in Washington on May 3, Andrew Delbanco discussed his new book,
College: What It Was, Is, and Should Be. Delbanco, who is Mendelson Family Chair of American Studies and the Julian Clarence Levi Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, offers a vigorous defense of the traditional four-year college experience in his book. At the well-attended event, CIC President Richard Ekman said, “Delbanco’s book is a voice of reason in what has become a very shrill debate. He has avoided the hyperbole of other recent books that criticize higher education, and he makes thoughtful recommendations.”
Date and LocationCIC hosted the book talk with Andrew Delbanco at CIC’s office in Washington, DC, on May 3, 2012.
