The competition officially opens. |

Completed applications due, including essay. |
| Early December
|
Applications forwarded to Committee members
for review. Committee
votes on applications. |
| Late December
|
Applications of top candidates due in the
Office of Admissions Tutor, St.
John’s College. |
2009 |
|
| Mid-January
|
Admissions Tutor selects short list of finalists
and makes special work
requests, according to subject matter. Finalists may be contacted
and instructed to forward a sample of academic work to St.
John’s College*. |
February
|
Finalists may be invited to participate in a personal interview. |
|
Decision on Scholarship award. St. John’s
College has complete discretion to award the Scholarship(s),
or not, as the case may be. |
Late September
|
2009 Davies-Jackson Scholar(s) “goes up” to
Cambridge for two (2) years of study. |
* On occasion, finalists may be asked to submit an additional piece
of original academic work, which should be closely related to the
subject the student has applied to read at St. John's. Finalists
will be notified no later than January 15 should an additional piece
of academic work be requested.
